Database: Form

This week in class , started our new topic Databases.

The record that we added all this information acts like a shape sorter, it collects all the like information and puts it in one area and puts the other information in their assigned area. Things that are bigger then the shape selected will not be able to go through.

We created forms and filled them out with the appropriate details we found online.

Next we started to add colours and picture to make it look appealing.

My Final Website Evaluation

This week we started to write our content to finish off our websites. We gathered information for our websites online and put it into our blogs.

Here are parts of mine.

To improve my website i would add more detail into my content and also more pictures. I would also add more detail to my buttons, headers and footers. I would add lighter colours to further attract the readers attention.

My Website: Finding Other Websites

In today's lesson, we were told to find websites that are well organised to help us with creating our own. We were to comment on how the website attracted others, what colour scheme they used and if there links worked.

Here is the website.

This website has a neat display, along with navigation buttons that takes us to where we want easily. The rollover buttons make it easier for us to find what we want and the transition is quick. The colours are bland which makes it easier to put any picture they want on the main page as it will most likely match the colour scheme. To make this website better, i would make the buttons clearer and larger.

Here is the website.

This website has a very dull colour scheme which attracts more older people than young, its buttons and rollover buttons make it easy to navigate around the website at a quick pace. Adding more colour would improve this website.

Here is the website.

This colour has a well set theme, creating an eye catching main page. The creator has used many different colours to attract the readers attention and has set out the web page in simple shapes that section off everything, giving it a neat layout. To improve the website, the writer could add more music genres.

Here is the website.

This DIY is mainly set for girls due to the fact that the writer created it in feminine manner. Unlike the other websites, this website has a light/bright colour scheme along with a few pale colours. The content on the website is easy to follow making it more understandable.

Here is the website.

The colour scheme on this website is fairly dull and plain, yet the contents and set up makes the website amazing. The transitions are fairly slow, but its neat and well layed out. the writers have many areas for improvement, but all in all the website is easy to follow.

My Website: Rollover Images

In this weeks lesson, we created rollover images to add onto our website. We now have four different rollover images as well as four different buttons.

Here are my 8 buttons.

In my original image i only added yellow stars, but when your mouse hovers over one of these buttons, the yellow stars will duplicate into, not only yellow, but multi-colour stars.

Scratch: Snowflake Game (Two lesson topic)

For the last two lessons before the Christmas break, In class we created our own mini app where many things (snowflakes and gifts) fell from the top of the screen and another object was to collect them.

I made many different sized snowflakes, that all fell at different paces. I changed the amount of steps they took, which caused some to travel faster then the others.

The gifts had the same type of coding as the snowflakes, but of course they were set in different places and were set at different speeds.

The Santa Bag needed commands to tell it to move in different directions, as well as changing the costume when the sprite touched the other.
